Osimhen: I’m worth more than 100 million euros

Victor Osimhen has revealed to Galatasaray Youtube Channel why he thinks he is worth much more than his 100m euros market valuation by transfermarkt.

The Nigerian believes not all will agree with his assertion, but he deserves to think the way he feels, especially about his worth.

‘In my opinion, I’m worth more than 100 million because there are few players who have characteristics and success like mine in modern football,’ he said in the interview.

He also spoke on his thoughts about Istanbul, especially after his arrival from Napoli and Galatasaray.

“It’s unbelievable, of course… I didn’t know it was a very big city. As soon as I step in, I feel great here. Most importantly, the Galatasaray fans make this city wonderful. This is a great city for me, my family and my friends, I am very happy. Istanbul is one of the best cities in the world,’ he said and spoke about his new club.

“To be honest, there were a lot of players that I idolized and followed since I was little. Drogba is one of them. (Henry) Onyekuru and (Peter) Etebo had played here before, I knew the atmosphere was good.

‘Actually, I looked it up on the internet, but what I saw in reality was much more magnificent, what I saw here was amazing. I’m not saying this because I’m a Galatasaray player and I play here, but when I look at it objectively, the fans make it unbelievable.

‘I have always said this and will continue to say it, the fans are very passionate, and this is a very big family. Thanks to the fans, this place has grown into an incredibly big club, it’s really incredible.

Osimhen also revealed he watched a few of Galatasaray games ever before he was linked with a move to Turkey.

“I watched a few games last season. There were things that I actually watched during the time of Onyekuru. I watched the championship celebrations in which he took part and saw that it was a great atmosphere.

‘Last season, Mertens is a person I like very much and that’s why I watched it. He’s a person I really like. What he does in the cub and how he plays. I’ve seen that he’s very good at this club and he’s done a lot of good things for the club. I mean, I can say that I watched a few Galatasaray games before I came here.”

The Nigerian also spoke about his first game for the club.

“I was very excited at first. When I took my first step into the pitch to warm up, the fans started shouting my name and clapping. This made me feel at home. Because I saw how affectionately they greeted me. It was so nice to feel that we were with them, that we were on the same side.

‘I felt much better when my teammates and I stood shoulder to shoulder, seeing how they supported us when we fought. At the same time, I was very happy when they called the trio. They call me one by one, and after that I tried to do as much as I could there and I was very happy.”
