Osimhen seeks first win and first goal in three games Vs Barcelona

Nigerian set to play first game for Napoli in two months, guns for 120th game for Serie A side

Victor Osimhen will be seeking a goalscoring return to action for Napoli in two months when his side face Barcelona in a UEFA Champions League round of 16
tie at the : Diego Armando Maradona in Naples on Wednesday.

The Nigerian is scheduled to play his first game for Napoli after helping Nigeria to a silver medal finish a the 34th Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire
earlier this month and will relish the chance to score his first goal against the Spanish giant in Europe.

The 25 year old has featured twice against the Catalonians in the Europa League in the 2021/22 season. He helped Napoli to secure a 1-1 draw in the first leg
before he and his Serie A side crashed 4-2 in the second leg.

Osimhen neither scored nor provided an assist in the two games but now has an opportunity to do at least one of the two Wednesday night in Naples.

If he plays, it will also be his 120 game since he joined Napoli from Ligue 1 side, Lille in September 2020.

As many as 10 of thos games has come in the Champions League where his five goals last season helped Napoli to a quaterfinal finish, the club’s highest
finish in the history of the competition. Eight came in the Europa League, five in the Coppa Italia and 96 in the Serie A.

Overall, he has scored 67 times and provided 17 assist.
