Osimhen’s agent wants salary that matches Nigerian’s price tag, rejects over €100m release clause

Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda wants much more than the reported €6.5m per season Napoli is offering and believes the Nigerian should get a salary
that matches the €200m price tag Napoli are demanding for the 24 year old.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are ready to offer a new two-year deal worth €6.5m per season, making Osimhen the highest-paid player in the
club’s history but thinks it is way below the player’s current realty.

The newspaper also reports that Calenda ‘is not entirely convinced about a release clause of over €100m that Napoli directors are willing to include in the
new deal.’

La Gazzetta dello Sport says ‘negotiations over Osimhen’s salary and release clause will continue in the coming hours, given that Calenda hasn’t yet left
Dimaro.’

Osimhen scored 26 times last term to top the Serie A scoring chart and inspired Napoli to their third Scudetto and first in 33 years.

The Nigerian joined the Italian club in September 2020 and has scored 59 goals in 101 appearances across all competitions with 50 coming in 85 Serie A games.
