‘Osimhen’s Drive to Succeed is Unmatched’: Iwobi Praises Gala Star’s Relentless Drive and Raw Talent

Alex Iwobi has offered a candid and surprising insight into his Nigeria teammate Victor Osimhen, describing the Galatasaray striker as a relentless competitor who sometimes ‘cheats’ in training just to win.
Speaking on the Beast On Podcast, the Fulham midfielder praised Osimhen’s mentality and work ethic, while also highlighting the fiery edge that makes him one of the most feared forwards in world football.
‘He’s a calm, cool man. He gets injured every time in training because he puts his leg or head in a place where he shouldn’t. He always struggles,’ Iwobi said.
Iwobi explained that Osimhen’s drive to succeed is unmatched, often creating multiple chances on his own through sheer effort.
‘I’m not surprised he’s where he is now. Some might say he’s not mature yet, he’s a bit raw, but Victor creates five goal chances in every game on his own, just by his hard work and running.’
But it was his final remark that caught attention.
‘He always wants to win and that mentality is crazy. Sometimes he can go overboard because he wants to fight in training and make sure he wins. Sometimes he cheats and knows he is only cheating to win. But it’s a crazy mentality. He is a true Nigerian.’
