Owen: Arsenal are real Premier League title challenger

As Gunners gunnd down Man United at the Emirates stadium

Premier League pundit Michael Owen believes Arsenal are real Premier League title after the Gunners came from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates.

Marcus Rashford put United ahead on 27 minutes, Martin Odegaard equalised 35 seconds later.

Arsenal thought they had a penalty, which was then overturned, Manchester United thought they had gone ahead only for VAR to say it was offside, then two goals deep, deep into injury time from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus seal the win.

Owen said after the game that Arsenal are a more mature side now.

“Arsenal are more mature now, they used to be soft in the big games but they are real challengers now. This is a real team, they deserved to win today. Momentum is building,’ said the former England striker who scored 150 goals in 326 Premier League games.

Owens also hailed Declan Rice’s technique for Arsenal’s second goal.

‘You’d have to look at the goalkeeper, Andre Onana for the second Arsenal goal. Declan Rice did really well to keep the ball down when it’s bouncing, it’s a hard technique.’

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games against Manchester United at the Emirates (W5 D1), and have now won three consecutive home league games against them for the first time since May 1991.
