Rangers Fete U17 Young Stars After Exploits In Youth League

The management of Rangers International F.C, Thursday, March 7, 2024, hosted members of its U-17 team that did exploits at the recently concluded National Finals of the inaugural edition of NPFL U-17 Youth League that took place in the ancient city of Benin, Edo State.

At the short but colorful event that was hosted at the boardroom of the corporate headquarters of the club situated in G.R.A, Enugu saw the G.M/CEO of Rangers, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, pouring encomiums of the players, coaches, and officials that went to Benin for the massive representation.

He described the feat performed by the players on the pitch as worthy of commendation as the motive of setting up the youth squad was purely developmental stressing that the massive positive reports about the activities of the players fetched them the Fair-Play Award (Most Disciplined Club) in the competition goes a long way to indicate that they learned fast on the principles and playing style of the club.

“I must say that I am very happy having you here after your solid display at the NPFL U-17 Youth League in Benin. We are very proud of what you have been able to achieve for us as a club and state. The competition was for you to understand the playing pattern of the club as well as get a little exposure and develop your mindset. You are champions in every sense of it as our sponsor, Afrinvest is very proud of your exploits at the competition. I thank you so much on behalf of the Governor of Enugu state, Dr. Peter Mbah, and the management of Rangers International F.C.,” stated the youthful club administrator.

Coach of the U-17 team, Basil Obeta, in his reaction, said, “I thank God for giving us a man like our young G.M/CEO, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku, his affection for young players, greatly, helped us a lot in the competition. We hope to improve on what we were able to achieve at the inaugural edition when we go again.

The team returned to the Coal City with two M.O.T.M awards and the competition’s Fair Play award with some of the players listed by the national team selectors for a place in the NFF National U-17 team just as some have been elevated to start training with the senior team coached by Fidelis Ilechukwu.
