Real Madrid will have to pay €80m to sign Chukwueze

Real Madrid will have been told they will have to trigger Samuel Chukwueze’s release clause of €80m to sign him in the summer, according to Spanish newspaper, El Nacional.

The Villarreal winger is seen as the replacement for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio whose contract runs out at the end of the season.

The newspaper however says the Nigrian can only leave Villarreal if his release clause is triggered.

The 23 year old has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 13 goals and bagging 11 assists in 40 appearances for Villarreal. It is his better return in
terms of goals and assists in a single season for the club.

The highlight of Chukwueze’s impressive season was at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend when he scored twice to help his team beat Real Madrid 3-2 in a LaLiga game.

He old produced a goal that he will never forget, bending an effort into the top corner from 25 yards to give Villarreal the famous victory.
