Remo Stars seek to extend unbeaten home run to 22 games, return to top of the league

Remo Stars will be seeking to extend their unbeaten home run against any Nigerian team to 22 games when they host Kwara United at the Remo Stars stadium in
Ikenne on Sunday.

The home side have not lost a home game since May 2022 when they were beaten 3-1 by Kano Pillars and will be keen to beat Kwara United and make it 22 home
games without losing any game as well as return to the top of the table.

Doma United’s 1-0 defeat of Kano Pillars on Saturday moved the Gombe-based team to the top of the NPFL log, two points above Remo Stars and Lobi Stars.

With Lobi Stars playing away at Akwa United on Sunday, Remo Stars will fancy their chances of returning to the summit of the league. They will be buoyed by
the 4-0 annihilation of Kwara United when they last met in May this year at the Remo Stars stadium.

The Ikenne boys will also be banking on their and NPFL’s top scorer, Sikiru Alimi who returned to scoring ways after netting the only goal of the match
against Plateau United last week.

Alimi is the league’s joint top scorer on nine goals with Robert Christian Mizo of Bayelsa United.

The visitors will be seeking for their first away win of the season and have lost just three of the six road trips, drawing their last two at Bendel
Insurance (2-2) and Akwa United (1-1).
