Rio Ferdinand: Manchester City turning the Premier League into a ‘one horse race’ in September

Rio Ferdinand has said Manchester City’s unstoppable form has threatened to turn the Premier League into a one horse race.

The Cityzens defeated Wolves 3-0 at the Molineux to go on top of the Premier League and Ferdinand fears Pep Guardiola’s side look already unstoppable.

‘It’s ominous for everyone else. It’s looking like a one horse race. They’re only going to get stronger. Haaland has hit the ground like a racehorse. He’s taken everybody else’s game up a level.

‘Grealish answered the critics in a wonderful way with a good performance and a goal. Kyle Walker is coming back. All things are looking positive. There will be bumps in the road for every team but this is looking good,’ he told the Mailonline.

Erling Haaland doubled City’s advantage after 16 minutes, becoming the first Premier League player to score in each of his first four appearances away from home.

The Norwegian also takes his Premier League tally to 11 goals in just seven appearances.

With 23 goals in their opening seven games, City have by far the best offensive record in the league, and only Antonio Conte’s Tottenham have conceded fewer this season.
