Rodgers: Ndidi could be out for season

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that Wilfred Ndidi could be out for the season after he sustained a knee injury in the Foxes’ 2-1 loss to Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League last Thursday.

“With Ndidi we’re waiting for a second opinion on whether he will play for the rest of the season, which would be a shame.” Rodgers said in his post match presser after Leicester City’s 2-1 defeat of Brentford in a Premier League game at the King Power stadium on Sunday.

Ndidi has made 31 club appearances across all competitions this season, scoring twice and bagging one assist.

The 25 year old will miss Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Ghana later this week and early next week.

Nigeria manager Augustine Eguavoen has already called up FC Lorient of France midfielder Innocent Bonke as replacement for the Leicester City player.
