Rodgers: Thankfully, Ndidi is available to play Vs Man City

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers says Wilfred Ndidi is available for selection when the Foxes host defending champion Manchester City in a Premier League matchweek 14 on Saturday afternoon at the King Power stadium.

Ndidi has been out of action since he played for 45 minutes in the Foxes 4-0 defeat of Nothingham Forest at the start of October due to a harmstring trouble.

The Nigerian returned to full training on Wednesday and Rodgers is delighted his talismanic midfielder is back to fitness once again.

“Wilfred Ndidi has been back training with the squad. The most important thing is he’s back training in the squad and he’s looked fine with the players.

“Availability is the important thing and thankfully he’s available,’ Rodgers said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Ndidi has featured eight times for the Foxes in the competition so far this season and he has started in all.

If he plays on Saturday, it will be his ninth of the season, 174th in the competition since he made his debut in January 2017 and eighth in nine appearances against Manchester City.

The former Genk of Belgium player has lost seven of his previous eight appearances against Man City in the competition and eight in 10 matches across all competitions.

It is the joint most he has lost against any club in the Premier League and the most he has lost against any club across all competitions.

The 25 year old has scored seven times and provided nine assists in 173 Premier League games for the Foxes.
