Romelu Lukaku hails Osimhen, says Nigerian is the best striker in Serie A
Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku says Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is the best striker in the Serie A so far this season ahead of their clash Wednesday in the Italian topflight league..
‘He (Osimhen) is really strong, he is the best now. We have to be honest, he’s doing really well and Napoli are first in the table. We have respect but not fear.’ Lukaku said.
The 24 year old Nigerian is the top scorer in the Serie A so far this season with nine goals in 11 games, one ahead of Marco Arnautovic of Bologna ho has played two games more and two ahead of his fellow countryman, Ademola Lookman who has featured in three more games.
Across all competitions, Osimhen has scored 10 times in 14 games. He has netted 38 times in 76 games since he joined Napoli in September 2020.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is returning to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza a year on from a horrific injury sustained there.
The Super Eagles star suffered fractures to his left orbit and cheekbone, requiring extensive surgery and a lengthy hospital stay, after a clash of heads with Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup top scorer missed eight Serie A games on account of the injury.
