Ronaldo makes World Cup history, ‘very tempted by Chelsea move’

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to attempt 100 shots at World Cup tournaments since full shot data is available (1966).

The former Manchester United player was in action for 65 minutes in Portugal’s 2-1 loss to South Korea in their final group game with the 37 year old had just one shot in the game during a one one-on-one opportunity with the South Korean goalkeeper, Kim Seung-gyu which was well saved.

The number was however enough to give the now clubless player a place in FIFA World Cup history.

Meanwhile reports in England says Ronaldo is ‘very tempted’ by the possibility of joining Chelsea.

Manchester United mutually terminated Ronaldo’s contract following an explosive interview given to Piers Morgan for Talk TV, where he criticised the Red Devils, including their owners and manager Erik ten Hag.

According to journalist Daniele Longo, the 37-year-old is ‘very tempted’ by the prospect of joining Chelsea.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly reportedly wanted to sign Ronaldo in the summer, but Thomas Tuchel, who was the manager at the time, was against the idea of the Portugal international joining the club.
