Ronaldo, Martinez Least Valuable Among 26 FIFPRO World XI Finalists

Cristiano Ronaldo and Emiliano Martínez are joint-bottom among the 26 finalists for the 2025/26 FIFPRO Men’s World XI when ranked by market value, according to Transfermarkt.
The Portuguese superstar and Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper are each valued at €10 million, making them the least valuable players on the shortlist, which also features some of the world’s most highly rated footballers.
Lionel Messi is among the nominees, alongside fellow superstars Lamine Yamal and Erling Haaland, both of whom are valued at €220 million, according to Transfermarkt.
England captain Harry Kane, who recently won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, is also among the finalists.
The 26 nominees have been divided into four categories: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.
The final Men’s World XI will be announced next week, following a vote by professional footballers worldwide. Players with the highest number of votes in each position will earn places in the final team.
Unlike a conventional award decided by journalists or coaches, the FIFPRO World XI is determined exclusively by the votes of professional players, making it a recognition of excellence by fellow footballers.
Transfermarkt’s ranking provides a market-value perspective on the nominees, although market valuation does not determine who makes the final World XI.
