Saibari Screamer Seals Morocco Victory, Matches Salah with Historic World Cup Feat

Morocco claimed a crucial 1-0 victory over Scotland at Boston Stadium, with Ismael Saibari’s thunderous strike setting a new national record for the fastest goal in the country’s FIFA World Cup history.

The Atlas Lions struck just two minutes into the Group C clash when Saibari raced past the Scottish defense, controlled a precise pass from Brahim Diaz, and fired into the roof of the net beyond goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

The finish was not only Morocco’s fastest-ever World Cup goal but also the quickest of the tournament so far.

Saibari nearly doubled his tally after the break, rattling the crossbar with a deflected effort following a low cross from Bilal El Khannouss. Morocco continued to threaten, with El Khannouss himself denied by Gunn from a Hakimi corner.

Scotland rallied late, with John McGinn, Ben Gannon-Doak, and Scott McTominay pushing forward in search of an equalizer. Despite their pressure, Morocco held firm to secure three points that place them atop Group C with four points, ahead of Brazil’s upcoming fixture in Philadelphia.

Saibari has become only the second African player to score in each of his first two World Cup appearances, following Egypt’s Mohamed Salah in 2018.
