Saka, Kane Hit Braces as England Humiliate Croatia 7-0
Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scored twice as England demolished Croatia 7-0 in the Nations League, producing one of the most emphatic away wins in their history.
Kane opened the scoring after eight minutes before Jude Bellingham and Anthony Gordon added further goals inside the opening 40 minutes.
Saka then struck on the stroke of half-time to send England into the break 4-0 ahead.
Kane completed his brace eight minutes into the second half before Saka added his second in the 68th minute. Morgan Rogers completed the rout three minutes from time.
The victory was another landmark night for Kane, who moved to 125 England appearances, drawing level with Peter Shilton as the country’s joint-most capped player.
The Bayern Munich striker also took his England goal tally to 89, further extending his record as the Three Lions’ all-time leading scorer.
Kane also made history by scoring in six consecutive competitive away appearances for England, becoming the first player to achieve the feat since Stan Mortensen in 1948.
Kane is the first player to score 10+ goals in three different calendar years for England: 10 in 2026, 16 in 2021 and 12 in 2019.
He is now one match away from equalling Tom Finney’s England record of scoring in seven successive away internationals.
Saka, meanwhile, earned his 59th England cap and took his international tally to 17 goals with his brace. The Arsenal winger scored his first in the 45th minute before adding England’s sixth with 22 minutes remaining.
Bellingham also impressed, scoring England’s second and providing assists for Kane’s opener and Saka’s first goal.
Gordon added the third, while Rogers rounded off the rout after coming off the bench.
For Thomas Tuchel, the result continued England’s strong start to their Nations League campaign and underlined the attacking quality available to the Three Lions.
England’s victory also extended their remarkable away run, with the team now having won nine consecutive matches on the road.
