Salah Moves Clear of Orban in Turkish Super Lig Scoring Race

Mohamed Salah moved clear at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig scoring chart after finding the net in Trabzonspor’s 2-0 victory over Beşiktaş at Papara Park on Monday evening.
The Egyptian forward scored Trabzonspor’s second goal to take his league tally to eight this season, opening a one-goal lead over the chasing pack in the race for the Golden Boot.
Fenerbahçe’s Vedat Muriqi and Nigerian forward Gift Orban of Amed Sportif Faaliyetler are among the players on seven goals, alongside Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, has scored six goals and is among the players on that mark, alongside Beşiktaş forward Dušan Vlahović.
Trabzonspor’s victory also featured Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, who played the full 90 minutes, while Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi came on for Benin Republic international Junior Olaitan in the 85th minute for Beşiktaş.
Salah’s latest strike gives him an early advantage in a closely contested scoring race, with Muriqi, Orban and Shomurodov all within one goal of the Egyptian as the 2026/27 season continues.
