Samuel Kalu doubtful for Watford game at Cardiff

Maduka Okoye waiting for first taste of Championship action after 19 games

Samuel Kalu is the latest additions to Watford’s never-ending injury list ahead of Wednesday’s game at Cardiff.

The Nigeria international will make the trip to Cardiff but head coach Slaven Bilic’s not 100% confident he is going to play any part in the game.

‘Again we have a couple of issues,’ said Bilic.

‘Kalu is struggling. He’s going to travel with us and we will see.

‘We’ve trained today (Tuesday), but it’s the only full training session that we’ve had since the game at Wigan. Hopefully he will come through and will be ok.

Since his return from injury that ensured he missed the club’s 13 games in the Championships, Kalu has featured in the last four, especially since the appoitment of

Bilic last month.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is still waiting to make his first appearance in the competition after 18 games.

The Nigerian shot stopper has only featured once for the Hornets and it was in their 2-0 loss to visiting MK Dons at the Vicarage Road stadium in a League Cup game in

August.
