Senegal’s Amara Diouf breaks Victor Osimhen’s U17 AFCON goal record

Victor Osimhen has been breaking every available record in the Serie A this season.

The 24 year old tops the scoring chart in the Serie A this season. He became the highest scoring Nigerian and African in the Serie A this season and also
emerged as the top scoring African in the history of the competition.

The Napoli forward has however lost the African U17 championship record to Senegal captain, Amara Diouf.

The Nigerian scored four goals at the 2015 tournament in Niger to emerge the top scoring African U17 star in the history of the championships.

But Diouf has now erased the Nigerian’s name from the record books after netting a brace against South Africa ion Wednesday to bring his tally to five with two games still left to play for the forward.

Diouf is however delighted to be following in the footsteps of the Napoli forward.

‘It is always the right path if you follow the examples set by the best players in the competition. This is a massive thing for me and I am really delighted
to break the record. It means a lot to me and hopefully, I can also follow his path of success,’ Diouf said.
