Shooting Stars SC unveils Nurudeen Aweroro as new Head Coach

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Nurudeen Aweroro as the new Head Coach of the Oluyole Warriors.

A CAF-licensed tactician with a proven track record, Aweroro steps into the role following the departure of Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, who was relieved of his duties last week after a challenging season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Coach Aweroro brings a wealth of experience from his time with Remo Stars, MFM FC, and most recently, Ikorodu City FC, where he orchestrated one of the most remarkable turnarounds in recent NPFL history.

After taking over Ikorodu City early in their debut season, Aweroro led the team from a rocky start to a 4th-place finish on the NPFL table, narrowly missing out on continental qualification.

Under his leadership, Ikorodu City became the league’s most prolific attacking side, scoring 60 goals — more than any other team in the 2024/25 season.

His tactical acumen and ability to inspire young talent earned him widespread acclaim and made him one of the most sought-after coaches in Nigerian football.

‘We are thrilled to welcome Coach Aweroro to Ibadan,’ said a club spokesperson. ‘His vision, energy, and results-driven approach align perfectly with our ambitions to restore Shooting Stars to the top of Nigerian football.’

Coach Aweroro expressed his excitement about the new challenge:

‘Shooting Stars is a club with rich history and passionate supporters. I’m honored to lead this team and committed to building a squad that competes with pride and purpose.’

The club urges fans, stakeholders, and the football community to rally behind Coach Aweroro as he begins this new chapter.
