Six Premier League clubs monitoring Chuba Akpom

As many as six Premier League side are keen on signing Middlesbrough forward and Championship top scorer Chuba Akpom this summer.

According to TalkSport, Leeds United, Everton and Crystal Palace are among the clubs seeking to sign the former Arsnal player.

Akpom is arguably the most coveted player outside of the Premier League and the Nigerian has lit up the Championship, netting 21 goals in Middlesbrough’s push for promotion.

In fact, only Manchester City star Erling Haaland (27) has scored more goals than Akpom in the top four tiers of English football this season and his impressive goal-scoring exploits have not gone unnoticed in England or abroad.

The 27 year old currently leads the Championship scoring charts and moved his tally to 21 in the league this term with his brace against Reading last time out. In doing so, he became the first player at the club since Bernie Slaven in 1990 to reach 20 league goals in a single campaign.

Akpom will likely be playing in the Premier League next season, whether that’s with a Middlesbrough side that look like one of the best in the division right now, or with a move.
