Super Eagles Camp Hits Full House As Nwabali, Ndidi, Chukwueze Join Up

The Super Eagles camp in preparation for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign has hit full strength with goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi and Samuel Chukwueze joining the squad.

The arrival of the trio brings the number of players in camp to 23 as the Super Eagles begin preparations for their opening AFCON 2027 qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.

The match will be played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with the Madagascar team arriving in the Akwa Ibom capital on Monday evening.

Nwabali joined camp on Tuesday while Ndidi and Chukwueze also arrived ahead of the team’s first training session.

Twenty players had earlier reported for duty, including Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika and Bruno Onyemaechi.

The other early arrivals were Taiwo Awoniyi, Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare, George Ilenikhena, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Arthur Okonkwo, Isaac James, Emmanuel Fernandez, Benjamin Frederick and Moses Uzor.

With the latest arrivals, coach Eric Chelle now has the bulk of his squad available as the Eagles step up preparations for Friday’s encounter.

The clash with Madagascar marks Nigeria’s first match in the race to qualify for the 2027 AFCON, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
