Super Eagles Fall to Seventh in Africa’s Market Value Rankings
The Super Eagles have dropped to seventh place in the latest ranking of Africa’s most valuable national teams, according to Transfermarkt’s post-season market value updates across major global leagues.
Nigeria’s squad is now valued at €171.85 million, significantly behind continental leaders.
Ivory Coast tops the list with a squad worth €522.10 million, nearly triple Nigeria’s value. Morocco follows in second place at €498.30 million, while reigning African champions Senegal are third with €478.10 million.
Algeria (€256.90m), Ghana (€234.60m), and Cameroon (€198.70m) all rank ahead of Nigeria.
The decline in Nigeria’s overall valuation reflects sharp drops in the market value of several key players.
Victor Osimhen remains the country’s most valuable footballer, but his worth has fallen from a career-high of €120 million in 2023 to €75 million today. Wilfred Ndidi has seen his value plummet from €60 million in 2021 to just €8 million, while Ademola Lookman dropped from €60 million in 2025 to €40 million.
Victor Boniface has experienced the steepest decline, falling from €45 million in 2024 to €5 million.
