Super Eagles honour Osimhen, Enyimba player and coach

Super Eagles players formed a guard of honour after Tuesday’s closed door training session to honour members of the team who helped their respective clubs to
win the league titles.

Those honoured include Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, Enyimba goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo and head coach, former international Finidi George.

Osimhen, who arrived the team’s camp in Lagos Tuesday inspired Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years with the 26 goals he scored which accounted for
more than one third of goals scored by the club.

The 24 year old ended the season as the first African to end a single Serie A season as the competition’s top scorer. He also became the top scoring African
in a single Serie A season and the all-time African top scorer in the history of the competition.

Ojo and Finidi helped ‘Peoples Elephant’ Enyimba of Aba to their record ninth Nigerian Premier League title after finishing top of the log in the Super Six
championships held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

As many as 22 Eagles took part in Tuesday’s training session ahead of Sunday’s 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier against Sierra Leone in Monrovia.
