Tima Godbless runs 11.24 to win on Collegiate outdoor debut, Onojuvwevwo wins 400m event

Tima Godbless made her collegiate outdoor debut with a bang, running 11.24 seconds (+0.7 m/s) to win the 100m event at the Keyth Talley Invitational at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium on Saturday.

Godbless’s time puts her at third in the nation, seventh in the world and second behind Olajide Olayinka in the Nigerian top list early on in the season.

It was also her fastest time since running her lifetime best of 11.09 and 11.20 in August 2022 at the World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia.

She ran 11.43 last year as her personal season’s best albeit it was enough for her to clinch the African U20 Championship gold in Ndola, Zambia.

Godbless was also in the Louisiana State University, LSU women’s 4×100-meter relay team that clocked a nation-leading time of 43.43 seconds to win the event,
shaving .64 seconds off last weekend’s time.

Meanwhile, Ella Onojuvwevwo was also in action at the competition and won the 400m with a No. 3 time in the nation of 52.31.
