Tima Godbless runs 23.16 to finish fourth, Ezekiel opens with 49.57 in 400m hurdles

Tima Godbless ran a wind-aided 23.16 to finish fourth in the overall classification in the 200m at the Battle of Bayou event at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Louisiana.

The 19 year old reigning National Sports Festival double sprint champion ran 23.53 in her first 200m outdoor race a forthnight ago at the Hurricane
Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida.

Also in the event, Ella Onojuvwevwo ran a wind-legal 23.49 to place 12th in the final classification. It was the 19 year old’s second fastest time over the
distance after running 23.35 in April 2023 at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Florida.

Meanwhile Ezekiel Nathaniel ran 49.57 in his first race over the 400m hurdles to place second behind Chris Robinson who ran 49.13 to win.

The Nigerian holds a lifetime best of 48.42 in the event and has broken 49 seconds seven times since he set the Nigerian record in 2022.

In the men’s 200m, Godson Oghenebrume ran 20.74 to place fourth in the overall classification. He holds a 20.63 personal season’s best and will be seeking to
lay down the marker in the 100m event on Saturday.
