Tobi Amusan starts as 4x100m relay team seeks first Commonwealth Games gold in 28 years
Nwokocha to anchor team
Freshly minted Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles champion, Tobi Amusan will start Nigeria’s quest for the first women’s 4x100m relay title in 28 years when the event gets underway Sunday afternoon at the Alexander stadium in Birmingham.
The 25 year old who ran a new 12.30s Games record to successfully defend her 100m hurdles title will hand over to 200m silver medallist Favour Ofili.
The 19 year old Ofili will hand over to Rosemary Chukwuma who in turn will give the baton to the anchor leg runner Grace Nwokocha.
Amusan and Chukwuma are seeking to win their second relay medal after running in the quartet that finished third four years ago in the Gold Coast, Australia.
