Tottenham Vs Fulham: Iwobi seeking first goal in 13 games, Bassey targets first start in two months

Alex Iwobi will be seeking his first goal in 13 games against Tottenham Hotspur when he visits the Tottenham stadium with Fulham on Monday night.

The Nigerian has neither scored nor provided an assist in 12 games against the north London side, winning just three of the games and losing four.

Iwobi, 27, joined Fulham during the last transfer window and the former Arsenal and Everton midfielder will also be looking to score his first Premier League goal of the season and first for Fulham in only five appearances.

If he bags an assist, it will also be his first of the season and 26 in 228 appearances in the competition which will move him just one assist away from equalling Nwankwo Kanu’s all-time assists record of 29 by a Nigerian in the competition.

If he plays, he will also move joint fifth with Joseph Yobo in the Nigerian appearance list at 228.

Defender, Calvin Bassey will also be looking to make his second start in five Premier League games for the Cottagers.

Bought from Ajax in the last transfer window, Bassey made his only start about two months ago, when he featured for 83 minutes in Fulham’s 2-2 draw at Arsenal.

The Nigerian has featured twice since that day, coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 win against Luton Town and 3-1 defeat of Sheffield United, both at Craven Cottage.
