Trabzonspor Interim Coach: Onuachu Injury Not Serious

Trabzonspor interim coach Hüseyin Çimşir has allayed fears over Paul Onuachu’s injury, saying the Nigerian striker did not suffer a serious setback during Sunday’s 5-0 Turkish Super League victory over Gençlerbirliği.
Onuachu was forced off in the 43rd minute after scoring twice to put Trabzonspor firmly in control at Papara Park.
Çimşir, who took temporary charge of the team following Fatih Tekke’s departure, played down concerns over the forward after the match. ‘I don’t think it’s a big deal. There is no troublesome situation,’ he said.
The brace took Onuachu’s tally to two goals in the match as Trabzonspor produced a dominant display.
Mohamed Salah converted a penalty to make it 2-0 before Onuachu added his second for a 3-0 lead. Ernest Muçi and debutant Franculino Dju completed the rout in the second half.
Çimşir, who had only one training session with the squad before the match, praised his players and supporters, insisting the team would improve as the season progresses.
‘We are going step by step. We will be in better places together,’ he said.
