Trabzonspor Reject €25m Fulham Bid for Nwaiwu

Trabzonspor have reportedly rejected a €25 million offer from Premier League club Fulham for Nigerian centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu, deciding to keep the 22-year-old defender for at least another season.

According to Turkish reports, two other clubs have also expressed interest in Nwaiwu, but Trabzonspor have now raised their asking price to €30 million and are unwilling to consider offers below that figure.

The Turkish club reportedly want to retain the defender as they target the league title next season. A €30 million sale would make Nwaiwu the most expensive outgoing transfer in Trabzonspor’s history.

Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger midway through last season after previously playing for Nigerian clubs Enyimba and Heartland. He made 21 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist for the Turkish side.
