Turkish Pundit Calls Osimhen ‘Alien’ After Inspiring Galatasaray’s 3-2 Win

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been described as an ‘alien’ by Turkish football commentator İlker Yağcıoğlu following another outstanding display for Galatasaray in their 3-2 victory over Göztepe.
Yağcıoğlu, speaking on TRT Spor after the match, said Osimhen stood head and shoulders above every other player on the pitch, praising the Nigerian forward’s determination, work rate and all-round contribution.
‘There were 21 earthlings and one alien on the field today,’ Yağcıoğlu said. ‘The alien turned the match around today.
‘He has been doing it since the beginning of the season. Today, we watched an Osimhen who did everything for Galatasaray on the field.
‘Does a player play so willingly, push so hard and play so well? He does everything.’
The former footballer was particularly impressed by Osimhen’s defensive contribution, noting that the Nigerian was still helping his team at the back in the closing stages of the game.
‘In the last minute, he also took the ball out of the six-yard box. His dedication should be respected,’ Yağcıoğlu said, while warning that Galatasaray must not become overly dependent on their star striker.
He pointed to remarkable statistics from the encounter, claiming Osimhen touched the ball in Galatasaray’s penalty area 19 times and was involved in 25 duels, including 18 aerial contests.
‘I have never seen anything like this in my life,’ Yağcıoğlu said. ‘When you have such a player, you win.’
