Napoli star Victor Osimhen trained separately from the rest of the team Monday morning due to a muscle issue, so he is in doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Liverpool.
The Azzurri trained at Castel Volturno Monday morning following their 2-1 win over Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio on Saturday.
They are the Serie A table leaders along with Milan, but could see their star striker Osimhen miss the upcoming Champions League group stage opener against Liverpool.
“Osimhen trained separately from the team due to a muscle problem suffered in the final minutes of Lazio-Napoli,” the Partenopei said in an official statement.
Osimhen has scored two goals in the opening five Serie A games of the season.
The Nigerian international forward has scored six goals in 13 European cup appearances. Two of the goals came in five Champions League games while the remaining four and an assist came in eight Europa League games.
