UEFA Champions League: Osimhen Chases Galatasaray Milestone In Stuttgart Clash
Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will be chasing personal milestones when they feature for their respective clubs in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League matches.
Osimhen will be targeting his 70th goal for Galatasaray when the Turkish champions host German side Stuttgart in a league-phase encounter.
The 27-year-old has scored 69 goals in 84 appearances for the Istanbul club across all competitions, meaning another strike would take him to the landmark in his 85th match.
Of his 69 goals, eight have come in 12 Champions League appearances for Galatasaray, one more than he managed in the same number of games for Napoli.
Osimhen has scored 17 goals in 29 appearances overall in the competition and is closing in on another Galatasaray record.
He needs two more goals to equal Burak Yılmaz’s tally of 10 as the club’s second-highest scorer in the Champions League, behind legendary striker Hakan Şükür.
The Super Eagles forward also boasts a positive record against German opposition, having scored three goals across two meetings with Eintracht Frankfurt in February and March 2023.
