‘We Will Keep Going and See What Happens,’ says Guardiola After Man City Stumble at Everton

Pep Guardiola admitted Manchester City’s Premier League destiny is no longer in their own hands after a dramatic 3-3 draw at Everton but vowed his side will keep fighting until the end.

City had led through Jeremy Doku before Everton surged back to go 3-1 ahead. Late goals, including Doku’s stunning 97th‑minute equaliser, rescued a point that keeps City five behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

Reflecting on the setback, Guardiola said:

‘It’s better to have a point than no point. It was in our hands before this game but now it’s not. Prepare for Brentford. We will continue and see what happens.’

He praised his players’ resilience but admitted frustration at losing momentum after a strong first half.

‘We were exceptional early, then they stepped up. We gave away the first goal, their set‑pieces are always dangerous. Still, without emotion you cannot come back. If you give up, you cannot do what we have done,’ he explained.

Guardiola’s message was clear: City must regroup quickly and keep pushing, even if the title race is now tilted in Arsenal’s favour.
