‘Welcome To Spain’, Awoniyi welcomes himself to Nottingham Forest’s training camp

Barely days after manager, Nuno Espírito Santo announced that striker, Taiwo Awoniyi will miss Nottingham Forest’s warm weather training camp in Spain for family reason(s), the Nigerian has now rejoined his teammates.

The 26 year old’s video was posted on the club’s X handle, welcoming himself to Spain and will now be available for selection in the club’s friendly games against Millwall on Wednesday and Elche on Saturday.

Awoniyi was the club’s top scorer in his debut season at the club and in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals, two more than Brennan Johnson and third in his second season with six goals after missing 18 Premier League games due to injury.

He still ended up as Nigeria’s top scorer for the second straight season. He will be aiming to join Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Efan Ekoku as top scoring Nigerians in three consecutive Premier League seasons.
