Yira Sor made KRC Genk history in win Vs Zulte Waregem

Yira Sor scored the only goal of the game to secure all three points for KRC Genk in their Jupiler Pro League win over visiting Zulte Waregem at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday.

The Nigerian scored the winner which extended KRC Genk’s lead to 10 at the top of the log ( 52 points from 20 games) on 10 minutes and in the process made a club history.

Following his goal after 10 minutes, Sor became the fastest KRC Genk player to score on his Jupiler Pro League starting debut since the 2008-09 season.

The Nigerian made his debut for Genk just last weekend when he was introduced on 88 minutes in the victory over champions Club Brugge.

He was signed for KRC Genk from Slavia Prague earlier that very week.

The 22 year-old Nigerian signed with the club until 2027.

Sor scored six goals in six games in the Conference League for Slavia Prague during the 2021/2022 season.
