500 Young Talents Expected as Oyedeji Basketball Camp Marks 25th Edition

The Olumide Oyedeji Basketball Camp will celebrate its 25th edition from August 31 to September 5, 2026, with more than 500 young basketball players expected to participate in the six-day programme at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere in Lagos.

Founded by former Nigeria international and NBA player Olumide Oyedeji, the camp has become one of Nigeria’s longest-running grassroots basketball development programmes, providing young players with opportunities to sharpen their skills while learning about teamwork, discipline and the wider demands of the game.

The 2026 edition will feature intensive basketball training, coaching clinics and mentorship sessions led by experienced coaches and basketball personalities.

The programme is designed to improve participants’ technical abilities, tactical understanding and overall development both on and off the court.

Oyedeji, who serves as the 3rd Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, said he remains committed to using basketball as a platform to empower young Nigerians and contribute to the growth of the sport at grassroots level.

As the camp marks 25 years of impact, the President of the Nigeria Olympians Association also assured participants and members of the basketball community of an exciting and rewarding experience.

With more than 500 youngsters expected to attend, this year’s camp is set to reinforce Oyedeji’s long-standing commitment to discovering, developing and creating opportunities for the next generation of Nigerian basketball talents.
