Favour Ashe to make outdoor season debut in 100m Friday
Auburn University freshman sprinter Favour Ashe will make his season debut in the men’s 100m dash on Friday at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational in Houston, Texas.
Ashe is coming off an impressive indoor season winning the Indoor SEC Championship in the men’s 60m dash and matching his personal-best 6.51 at the Indoor NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The 20 year old had a breakout 2022 season, running 6.51 enroute to winning the bronze medal in his debut at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
He moved a step higher outdoor as he won the silver medal in the 100m event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Ashe became the 12th fastest Nigerian over the 100m last season when he ran 9.99 to win his first Nigeria Championships blue ribband title.
