Victor Boniface up for Bundesliga player of the month for September

Bayer Leverkusen are another side to have started the season like wildfire – with 16 points and 20 goals after six matchdays of a Bundesliga season both
representing new club records.

Boniface has played a big part in Bayer Leverkusen’s super start to the 2023/24 season with four goals and one assist in September – with only Guirassy and
Harry Kane scoring more over the past month.

The 22 year old started every Bundesliga match Leverkusen played in September. He hit the most shots on goal in the league by some distance (25) and had
comfortably the highest xGoals score (5.0). Only his shooting efficiency (-1.0) denied him more strikes.

The Nigerian is bidding to become Player of the Month for the second consecutive month and also scooped the Rookie of the Month award for August.
Meanwhile, Boniface has lost in his bid to add the goal of the month award to his collections in only his first year in Germany.

RB Leipzig’s Dutch dynamo Xavi Simons take the crown for September’s Goal of the Month in the Bundesliga, seeing off saw off stiff competition from Boniface, Julian Brandt, Benjamin Šeško, Serhou Guirassy, Florian Grillitsch, Alejandro Grimaldo, Maximilian Beier, Julian Ryerson and Jan-Niklas Beste.
