Hugo Broos: We are not focusing on Lookman

South Africa coach, Hugo Broos has acknowledged that Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman are Nigeria’s danger men and cares less with the absence of Osimhen, reiterating that his side are fully focused on the game against the Super Eagles in Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying showdown at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

‘We will see about Mudau, there is much talk about him and other injuries. Obviously, the (Nigeria) dangerman is Ademola Lookman, then there is Victor Osimhen, who is doubtful, but we are not focusing on that. We are focusing on our game on Friday, we have the ability and we have proven that at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire,’ said Broos at the pre-match press conference.

Striker Percy Tau also shared in his coach’s sentiment.

‘We are ready, and we are hungry to play. This is all that we are here for.’
