Bukayo Saka makes Whoscored Premier League and European Team of the Week

Arsenal star boy, Bukayo Saka has been named the best player in the Premier League’s match week seven fixtures and tops the list of players who made the authoritative football statistics website, Whoscored’s team of the week.

‘With a WhoScored rating of 9.41, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is our Premier League Player of the Week, following an outstanding display at home to Southampton.

‘The 23-year-old was directly involved in each of the Gunners’ three goals on Saturday afternoon, providing assists for Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli before finding the net himself with a classic finish,’ wrote Whoscored.

The football statistics website also named Saka’s Arsenal teammate, Kai Havertz in a two-man attack.

The website wrote thus: ‘Kai Havertz scored in a record-equalling seventh home match in a row for Arsenal over the weekend, as he fired home a crucial equaliser against Southampton at the Emirates.

‘The Germany international was assisted by Bukayo Saka for the third time this season, while he also made one key pass, two successful dribbles and four aerial wins, to return a WhoScored rating of 8.18.’

With no Chelsea and Manchester United player named, Brentford have four players, Vitaly Janelt, Ethan Pinnock, Mikkel Damsgaard and Nathan Collins with Everton’s Jordan Pickford as the goalkeeper of the week.

Liverpool have two players, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo while West Ham (Michail Antonio) and Man City (Mateo Kovacic) have one each.

Saka was also one of three Premier League players named in the European Team of the week. He is joined by the Brentford duo of Nathan Collins and Mikkel Damsgaard.
