Nigeria’s CHAN 2024 Squad to Face APR FC in Key Warm-Up Match

Nigeria’s national team will face Rwanda’s APR FC in a high-profile friendly on July 29 at Kigali’s Amahoro Stadium as part of final preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The tournament, which kicks off August 2 and runs through August 30, will be hosted across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The Super Eagles will proceed to Zanzibar after the match, where they’ll compete in Group D alongside Senegal, Congo, and Sudan.
APR FC, under the guidance of new head coach Taleb Abderrahim, is also using the fixture to sharpen its squad ahead of the CAF Champions League and the upcoming season.
Fresh from a convincing 4-1 victory against Gasogi United at Shyorongi training base, APR has scheduled other high-stakes friendlies—including potential matches against Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Azam FC in August.
South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs are also being considered for a slot in the club’s preseason calendar.
