You’re Going Nowhere: Leko Shuts Down Onyedika Club Brugge Exit Rumours

Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has dismissed speculation linking Raphael Onyedika with a January move away from the club, insisting the midfielder is staying put.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international has been strongly linked with Turkish champions Galatasaray, with reports suggesting he has already agreed personal terms.

Victor Osimhen even revealed he had tried to convince Onyedika, along with Ademola Lookman, to join the Istanbul side.

But Leko was unequivocal when asked about the situation. ‘Nobody told me he’s leaving,’ he told Voetbalnieuws.

‘What I’ve seen? He’s training with us again, he’s in good spirits, and he’s behaving normally. I see no reason why Rapha can’t play. He’ll be in the squad.’

The coach stressed that he is unfazed by the transfer chatter: ‘People are chattering and speculating about transfers, but I’m staying calm. We’ll see what happens. We’ll only know more when the transfer window is over. But I’m not worried about Onyedika. I’ve been in football for thirty years: I’m not stupid.’
