Fulham Plan New Bassey Deal as Inter Milan Circle

Fulham are reportedly preparing to open contract talks with Nigeria international Calvin Bassey as they look to secure the defender’s long-term future amid interest from Inter Milan.

The Cottagers want to begin negotiations with Bassey before the end of 2026, with discussions expected to start after the September international break.

Although Bassey’s current contract is due to expire next summer, Fulham have an option that can extend the agreement until 2028, giving the Premier League club some protection against the possibility of losing the defender on a free transfer.

Bassey joined Fulham from Ajax in July 2023 and has since established himself as a key figure at the club. The 26-year-old was named Fulham’s Player of the Season for 2024/25 and has remained a regular despite the club’s managerial change.

Fulham are keen to resolve the situation before the end of December, but the defender’s future could become more complicated if Inter Milan intensify their interest.

According to reports, the Italian giants are leading the clubs monitoring Bassey and could make a move if the Nigeria international decides against extending his stay at Craven Cottage.
