Teenage striker Ogundu to undergo Augsburg medical

FC Augsburg are closing in on the signing of Nigerian forward Uchenna Ogundu, according to transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg.
The 19-year-old Alanyaspor striker is expected in Fuggerstadt on Sunday for a medical ahead of a permanent move to the Bundesliga side.
Ogundu, a graduate of Nigeria’s renowned Diamond Youth Academy, began his European journey in 2024 when he joined Turkish third division club Şanlıurfaspor.
He was later snapped up by Alanyaspor on a free transfer last summer and has since featured regularly in the Süper Lig, scoring two goals in 17 appearances.
His performances have seen his market value rise sharply, climbing from €650,000 at the start of the season to €1.5 million.
While Augsburg are pushing to secure his services, Plettenberg notes that the financial details of the deal remain unclear, with no confirmation yet on the fee the German club will pay for the teenage talent.
