Brightville College Crowned Oyo State Champions

Brightville College, Ibadan, have emerged Oyo State champions of the First Bank/Sam Okwaraji U16 National School Football Tournament after edging Bishop Philips Academy 1-0 in the final.

The victory adds another feather to Brightville’s cap, following their runner-up finish at the 2014 NNPC/Shell Cup National finals and their triumph as 2015 Copa Coca-Cola state champions.

The 2024 state representatives at the CAF U15 tournament dominated proceedings in the final, creating several chances before eventually finding the decisive goal that sealed their championship win.

Brightville’s consistency at youth football competitions continues to underline their reputation as one of the strongest school football teams in Nigeria, with a track record of producing competitive sides at both state and national levels.
