NPFL Reschedules Five Rivers United Fixtures Amid CAF Champions League commitments

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced the rescheduling of five fixtures originally postponed due to Rivers United’s involvement in the CAF Champions League.

The league organisers have confirmed new dates across February and March, with matches set to take place in Ilorin, Port Harcourt, Ozoro, Abeokuta, Lagos, and Lafia.

The revised calendar begins on Wednesday, February 18, with Kwara United hosting in Ilorin, followed by a home clash against Enyimba in Port Harcourt on February 22.

Subsequent fixtures include Barau FC on February 25, Bayelsa United on March 1, and El-Kanemi Warriors on March 4.

The schedule continues with Bendel Insurance on March 8, Shooting Stars on March 12, Ikorodu City on March 15, Niger Tornadoes on March 19, Nasarawa United on March 22, and Kun Kalifat on March 29.

All matches are scheduled for 4pm local time, though the NPFL has noted that dates remain subject to change by league organisers.

The adjustments ensure that clubs competing in continental tournaments can fulfil their domestic obligations without fixture congestion.

Rivers United are third on the table with 41 points from 21 games, three behind leaders, Ikorodu City with 44 points from 26 games with Enugu Rangers one point behind from the same number of games in second place.
