Carragher: ‘Iwobi’s A Manager’s Dream’

Jamie Carragher has described Alex Iwobi as ‘a manager’s dream’ after the Nigerian international produced a standout performance in Fulham’s 2–0 victory over Sunderland.

The former Arsenal midfielder delivered a pinpoint corner for Raul Jimenez to open the scoring before capping his display with a composed finish that sealed all three points.

It was the third time Iwobi had both scored and assisted in a Premier League match, underlining his growing influence at Craven Cottage.

Carragher praised Iwobi’s versatility and physical qualities, noting that Marco Silva has long been an admirer of the player, having signed him at both Everton and Fulham.

‘Physically, he’s fantastic. The quality he shows is underrated. He’s certainly up there with Fulham’s best this season,’ Carragher said.

Iwobi’s performance drew further acclaim on Match of the Day 2, where Shay Given and former Fulham captain Danny Murphy highlighted how he controlled the midfield battle.

Murphy, himself a former central midfielder, emphasized Iwobi’s ability to dictate play and drive his team forward, describing the display as a reminder of his technical ability that often goes unnoticed.
