Amos Adamu Slams ‘Fabricated’ Reports Linking Him to Boxing Row

Retired Sports Ministry Director General, Dr Amos Adamu, has issued a stern warning against attempts to link him to the ongoing crisis between the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) and the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC).

Adamu, who left the Sports Ministry more than a decade ago, described reports claiming he condemned the National Sports Commission as ‘a total fabrication’ and vowed to take legal action against those spreading falsehoods.

He dismissed the allegations as baseless, insisting he would never criticize the Sports Ministry, which he referred to as his ‘primary constituency.’

Adamu explained that while Dr Rafiu Ladipo had visited him to discuss the dispute, his advice was simply to resolve the matter amicably with top NSC officials.

He questioned how such advice could be twisted into condemnation of the Commission.

The former CAF and FIFA executive emphasized his long-standing loyalty to the Sports Ministry, stressing that he had invested his resources and career there. He warned that anyone attempting to drag his name into the controversy would face the full weight of the law.
