Barcelona 0-2 Atletico Madrid: Lookman Involved as Atletico End 20-Year Wait at Camp Nou

Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman played a key role in Atletico Madrid’s historic victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou, their first win at the venue since 2006.

Making his 20th Champions League appearance, Lookman featured for 60 minutes before being replaced by Alexander Sørloth, who went on to score Atletico’s second goal in the 70th minute.

Diego Simeone’s side, who have eliminated Barcelona in both of their previous Champions League knockout ties, are now well on course to make it three from three.

Barcelona face an uphill battle to overturn the two-goal deficit in Madrid next week.

Julian Alvarez added to the occasion with his ninth Champions League goal of the season, setting a new club record for Atletico in a single campaign, surpassing Diego Costa’s tally of eight from 2013/14.
